We get paid when you do
No successful license? No success fee. Same event. Same side of the table.
No successful license? No success fee.
License & Data Bureau invests the people, software, and expertise required to identify and prepare qualifying operational data. When we successfully license an asset, our fee comes from the transaction proceeds.
- You don't need a data team.
- You don't need to prepare the corpus yourself.
- You don't need to know what AI buyers want.
What a $500,000 license looks like
Most companies don't have a buyer-ready AI dataset. LDB finds the opportunity, builds the missing operational documentation, prepares and structures the data, runs diligence, finds the buyer, and closes the transaction. That is why the fee exists.
Success fees run 15% to 40%.
This walkthrough uses 35% to show the math. Your fee is set in writing before any work starts. Not a quote.
At 15% you keep $425,000. At 40% you keep $300,000.
How the money can arrive
Standard payout
The buyer pays under the negotiated terms. After acceptance there is usually a net-payment period. You receive your proceeds when that payment settles.
Accelerated payout
Once the dataset is accepted and the receivable is set, a financing partner can advance most of your proceeds instead of waiting on the buyer's payment period. You take a smaller check now. The difference is the cost of getting paid sooner.
Recurring licenses
Some deals are not one check. If the business keeps producing the same kind of work, the license can keep producing: the historical corpus first, then incremental corpora, then refresh fees.
What can these deals look like?
Observational ranges. Not a quote. Most businesses will not qualify. The ones that do still need the work packaged.
